Before you can get started you will need a RumbleBot account that is linked to your Rumble channel. This only takes a few minutes and is a straightforward process. Guide.
Navigate to the chat widget configuration page (https://www.rumble.bot/dashboard/chat). Once here, you will see several different configurable options.
At the top of the page you can find your widget URL, you will add this as a browser source in your streaming software later. Below, you will see the chat widget configuration and a preview of the styling. Additionally, you can use the CSS editor for more advanced stylings.
Themes: Select from different preconfigured styles, or create your own theme.
Font: Select the font text is displayed as.
Animation: The animation to be applied to new messages.
Remove messages after: Remove messages from the overlay after a certain amount of time.
Options: Toggle the display of PFPs and badges.
Font size: The size of the font.
Spacing: The vertical distance between each message.
Once you have configured the widget to your liking you can add it to OBS.
1. Copying your Widget URL
Above the configuration and preview sections, you'll find a box labeled "Widget URL." This URL is your key to adding the chat to OBS. Simply copy this URL.
2. Adding a browser source
Open your streaming software, such as OBS or Streamlabs, is open you will need to add a browser source.
3. Entering Your Widget URL
Inside the browser source settings, paste the widget URL you copied from RumbleBot into the "URL" field. There's typically no need to adjust any other browser source settings, but if necessary, you can modify the width and height values to resize the chat widget.
4. Testing it out
After adding the browser source, you should start seeing Rumble chat messages appear on your stream. If you make any changes to the widget settings while streaming, remember to reload the widget by refreshing the browser source for the updates to take effect.
The RumbleBot chat widget is only available on public streams. After a stream goes live it can sometimes take up to 1-2 minutes for messages to appear.
